Welcome to Michelle Moore Photography |
|
Michelle was born and raised in Bakersfield, Ca. At a very early age Michelle showed a love for nature, animals, and especially horses. In elementary school Michelle’s favorite thing to do was to draw and visit the local ranch where she discovered her love of horses. In High school she took photography and discovered watercolor after taking art classes. Her passion for art lead her to winning art contests in school and the local county fair. Her senior year in high school she got a job a the local Mom and Pop picture frame shop in order to afford to frame her art. That was the start of her career. In 1986 she moved to the Los Angeles area and worked in art galleries and frame shops. In 1995 Michelle married and started her own business as an Art Consultant and Custom Picture Framer. She was successful working with many celebrities and movie studios. In 1999 she had her first child and continued to work taking her son with her to the studios. In 2002 she had her second child. Michelle’s son was born with severe special needs requiring all of her attention and changing her life forever. She had to give up her business and devote her time to her children. Little did she know how her beautiful boys would change her life and her career. Always having a thing for art, Michelle realized she had a new love. Photography!!! It allowed her flexibility to continue to pursue her passion for art.
Michelle loves to take photos of her children, as well as all kids, animals such as her horses, nature especially flowers, and anything western or cowboy. Currently Michelle has her photography in several local restaurants and she has recently started taking photographs for the Gentle Barn in Santa Clarita. The Gentle Barn is a non-profit organization that rescues abused and abandoned animals. They have a unique way of taking these animals and incorporating many wonderful programs such as youth and special needs. Michelle has a personal fondness for the Gentle Barn having rescued many animals herself and having her own challenges with her son. For more info on the Gentle Barn see their website at: www.gentlebarn.org
